Terms of Service
The rules that govern how you use LankaServers. Plain English where possible, formal where it matters.

1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, placing an order, or using any LankaServers service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Services
LankaServers provides shared web hosting, VPS hosting, and domain registration services. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time with reasonable notice to active customers.
3. Account responsibilities
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure, for all activity that occurs under your account, and for ensuring the contact information on file is accurate. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Payment & billing
Hosting and VPS services are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis. Domain registrations are billed annually. All prices are in the currency shown at checkout. We accept bank transfer; orders are activated after payment is verified by our team.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use our services to host or distribute content that is illegal under Sri Lankan or international law, including but not limited to: malware, phishing pages, spam, copyright-infringing material, child sexual abuse material, or content that incites violence. Violations may result in immediate suspension without refund.
6. Resource usage
Shared hosting plans are intended for normal website workloads. Accounts that consume excessive CPU, RAM, I/O, or inodes that degrade service for other customers may be throttled, asked to upgrade to a VPS plan, or suspended.
7. Backups
We perform regular off-site backups as a courtesy. However, you are ultimately responsible for maintaining your own backups of your data. We are not liable for any data loss.
8. Uptime
We target 99.9% network uptime for shared hosting and 99.99% for VPS. Scheduled maintenance is excluded. If we fail to meet the target in a calendar month, contact support for a service credit (see Refund Policy).
9. Domain registrations
Domain registrations are subject to the policies of the relevant registry and ICANN. We act as a reseller and do not control registry-level decisions. Refunds for domain registrations are not available once the domain is registered.
10. Termination
You may cancel your service at any time from your dashboard. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms, are 14+ days overdue on payment, or have been inactive for an extended period after non-payment.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LankaServers' total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or via your dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka, unless another forum is required by applicable consumer-protection law.
